The Luminous Castle: How to Choose an Appropriately Epic RV
Ok, so I need an RV castle on wheels, but I have no idea which one to get. I mean, go big, or go home, right? Wait, can’t be my big? If I go small, does that mean I’m already home? Can I go too big and like, over-home myself? I’m having some sort of a goldilocks moment here, I think I’m spinning out. What I’m trying to figure out, is what sort of RV I need to become the Luminous Castle. I’ve done a bit of looking around online, and there are certainly some strong opinions on this one. The difficulty is, that there are strong opinions in just about every direction. There are full-time RVers who swear a van conversion is the ultimate in freedom. Then, there are others who would never live in anything less than a luxury tour bus. As usual, I feel like I’ll be somewhere in the middle, but I’m really not sure where I’ll land.
My first stop is going to be a place called RV Country. They’ve got several of the brands that I hear a lot about, and they come highly rated. I’ve called ahead to set up an interview with one of their specialists. What I’m really trying to find out is some basic background on types of RVs for full-time living. I’ll get into some brands as well, but I just need a place to get this search started, and I feel like this is a good one. So just hang tight for a minute, and we’ll be there to meet our guide in no-time.

My RV Walkthrough Notes
Ok, so Colby took us through a few of the RVs he recommends for us, and gave us some bullet points. We’ve taken up enough of his time already, so we’re going to do the filming without him and just let you know some of our reactions to the different classes.
This is the Newmar Baystar Class A Diesel Pusher. I have to say, from the outside, this is an impressive machine. It looks massive, and really well-designed. I definitely would feel pretty rock star pulling up in this. Like I’m headlining a national arena tour, you know? Let’s go inside and see how we feel. Watch the rest of the Review By Clicking HERE.
Ok, moving on to a travel trailer. This is the Northern Spirit by Coachman, which is really quite nice. From the outside it does not look nearly as impressive as the Class A. It looks a bit more flimsy somehow, like a good strong wind could knock it over. I don’t know what gives me that impression, but I do feel it. Watch the rest of the Review By Clicking HERE.
Now let’s take a look at a 5th-wheel, Paradigm Alliance. From the outside it’s beautiful. I like the extra height compared to the trailer, gives it that sturdy feeling. The color and patterns are very attractive, bright, modern. It has a sleek feel, I really like it from the outside. And…wow…first impression of the inside is phenomenal. Alright, that’s quite a lot to process. We’ll have to dig into some details before we actually purchase this thing, but for right now we’re really leaning towards a 5th wheel and truck combo. Colby’s advice really narrowed down our choices to the Class A motorhome, travel trailer, or 5th wheel. The Class A is beautiful, but in the end just feels a bit too much like a vehicle, and we’re looking for a home. We did enjoy the travel trailer we walked through, it has a much more homey feel, and I’m sure there are some layouts that we could work with. But then we walked into the Alliance Paradigm, and the reaction was immediate. The first thing that really caught our attention was the massive windows. It feels so open, it’s a breath of fresh air. Combine that with the overall solid construction, you just don’t feel like you’re standing in a trailer, it really does feel like a house. The open layout of the kitchen, the steps up to the bedroom, all just add to that feeling. Add in what Colby told us about the service and warranty they offer, and this is our front-runner back-runner. I mean, it’s the best pull-behind we’ve seen so far. I’ll definitely want to hear what you think we should go with in the comments.
This was an exciting day for me. It’s one of those times that things start to feel a bit more real, and I can really imagine what life will be like once we embark on this journey. It will feel even more real once we get together the $100k this is going to cost us.
So again a big thanks to Colby and RV Country for their time. There are just so many choices out there, it really helps to have someone to narrow them down for us. Next week I’m going to go back into my business preparations, and talk to you about the leadership coaching I’ve been going through. You’re going to find some really useful points there. Big love to everybody, had a great time with you today. See you soon.
